Spreading Kindness In Year 2

Lesson: PSHE and citizenship

Class: Y1/2 - Mr Wright Year: 2021 - 2022

This week at Northway we have been discussing how important it is to be kind and how acts of kindness are never forgotten. Our School Council led a brilliant assembly on Monday morning which was all about promoting acts of kindness and we discussed the different ways in which we could show kindness to others in our class, such as going out of our way to help others and recommending people for a team point due to acts of kindness.

We were delighted on Thursday when we were paid a special surprise visit from our ‘buddy class’, Mrs Phillips’ Year 5/6 class. The children in Year 5/6 had all made us a ‘chatterbox’ each which contained different messages of kindness inside. It was such a thoughtful gift and we really appreciated the time and effort they had put in to making such lovely gifts for us. It was fantastic to spend some time with our 'buddy class' and the upper juniors helped to show us how to work the ‘chatterboxes’. All of the messages of kindness were lovely to read and, as you can see from the photograph, they certainly put a huge smile on our faces! The children can’t wait to take their ‘chatterboxes’ home and share the uplifting messages of kindness!
