PUPIL PREMIUM

PUPIL PREMIUM AT NORTHWAY

Pupil Premium Funding 2017-2018

This year 40 of our pupils qualify for Pupil Premium Funding which equates to £52,800. In addition to this we receive some additional funding for two children who have a parent in the armed forces. This is used to raise the achievement of these pupils.

The majority of the funding will be spent on employing additional staff to facilitate targeted support and interventions and a higher adult / pupil ratio. It will also be used to provide additional resources and expertise to enhance pupil wellbeing. It will also continue to be used to provide a range of rich cultural opportunities for our pupils, residential and educational trips and outside expertise.

It will be used to provide:

  • Additional Teaching Assistants to work with targeted groups of children where there is a gap in their learning in Early Years
  • Additional Teaching Assistants to deliver intervention programmes to target groups in Reading, Writing and Maths in Key Stage 1 and 2
  • Additional Teaching Assistant to remove barriers to learning through emotional and behavioural support programmes.
  • A Teaching Assistant to support pupil wellbeing through targeted self esteem work and personalised wellbeing programmes.
  • Lunchtime welfare assistant to support pupils at lunchtime at KS2
  • Specific learning resources to meet the needs of individual children
  • External expertise to support pupil wellbeing

Other spending includes

  • Subsidising costs for residential visits, outside professionals and visitors.
  • Provision of Breakfast Club places for targeted families as required.
  • Subsidising costs for after school clubs provided by external providers.
  • ICT resources to support learning eg online learning programmes
  • Support to ensure good levels of attendance

A detailed evaluation outlining the full impact of the Pupil Premium spending will be published at the end of September 2018
