Extra fun at Northway

Here at Northway we want all of our children to engage with activities beyond the school day to develop them as individuals and explore a range of new interests and opportunities.

We have a diverse programme of extra curricular clubs for our children that changes throughout the year. Each term there is a different timetable of activities that children can take part in, ranging from sports, music, drama, art, ICT, maths, reading and gardening. Download the latest programme of events for the current term below!

Music tuition is also available for KS1 and KS2 pupils and is delivered by Musical Minds – a musical tutoring company.

We recognise that participation in extra curricular activities can have a whole range of positive effects on children and this is why we have signed up to the Children’s University. Children’s University is a charity that works in partnership with schools to develop a love of learning in children. They do this by encouraging and celebrating participation in extra-curricular activities both in and outside of school. Children earn Children’s University credits in school by taking part in extra-curricular clubs and activities whilst, outside of school, they can earn credits by getting their Children’s University passport stamped by a learning provider. If children earn a sufficient number of credits by the end of Year 2 and Year 6 then they graduate from the Children’s University which is always a memorable occasion. Children’s University passports can be purchased from the school office and, if you would like to learn more about the Children’s University, more information can be found on their website: https://www.childrensuniversity.co.uk
