CURRICULUM

LEARNING AT NORTHWAY

We have designed our whole school curriculum to ensure breadth and balance across a range of subject areas. We have planned topics that promote fluency in mathematics and English; develop skills and knowledge in science; that foster creativity in the arts and promote the British Values of tolerance and mutual respect through the Humanities, RE and PSHE.

Each year groups' curriculum builds on the year before. We have taken time to ensure that there is a progression of skills across the key stages so pupils are always developing. Cross-curricular opportunities are built across our themes to develop digital literacy, writing and maths skills.

We ensure that our curriculum themes are relevant and engaging and as such we consult with the children to plan new topics and evaluate exisitng ones. We strive to provide our children with a rich and deep curriculum, enhanced by visits, visitors and celebration days.
