Year 5/6 become shoe shiners!

In English, we have been reading the book 'Stay Where You Are Then Leave' by John Boyne. In the book, the main character Alfie decides to go out to work to shine shoes to help his family who are struggling to make ends meet. We read this section of the book and then pretended to be Alfie shining our own shoes! Later on this week we will be writing instructions for how to be a WW1 shoe shiner.
