Investigating the geometry of footballs

During World Cup Week, we investigated the geometry of footballs. Did you know that the ball used in the competition was actually based on a cube?

We made some more traditional footballs, or truncated icosahedra, out of polydron, card and felt. The felt ball became the trophey for the person who got France in the sweepstake.
