Y3 Viking trip to Martin Mere

Friday proved to be a rather unusual day this week because, when the classroom doors opened at 8:45am, our Year 3 class of Northway children appeared to have been replaced by a group of Vikings! Therefore, rather than staying in school, it was decided that we would visit Martin Mere where we learnt all about what life was like as a Viking, including weapons training, foraging, thatching and willow weaving. To make our trip truly authentic, we deliberately chose the worst day of the year weather-wise so that the class could experience how the Vikings stayed warm in torrential rain...
