Science Investigations in Y4

Lesson: Science

Class: Y2 - Mrs O'Connor Year: 2020 - 2021

As part of our learning about Plants in our Science lessons, we have been completing lots of different investigations and have done lots of observing of plants.

First, we investigated what would happen to cress if we grew it in the dark or in the light. Everything else about the care of the plants was kept the same, to ensure a fair scientific test.

We are currently investigating whether the amount of water given to a seed affects the rate of growth: again using cress. We are going to give one cress no water, one 20ml per day and one 100ml per day. We will complete observations to see the difference in growth between the different pots.

We are also growing our own broad beans and are regularly watering them (some of us more than others!) and observing their growth over the next five weeks.

We are really enjoying this new Science topic and are becoming very green-fingered!
