Performing Poetry In Year 2

We have been working extremely hard in English this week and Mr Wright was very impressed by how much the children could tell him about poetry. In this lesson, we split into small groups and rehearsed the poem ‘Now We Are Six’ by A. A. Milne. Each group were asked to come up with appropriate actions to help them remember the words off by heart and we discussed how we should use appropriate expression when performing. The groups then took it in turns to recite the poem in front of the class and we evaluated each performance, highlighting things which we thought each group did particularly well.
