KS1 School Trip To Martin Mere

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: Y1/2 - Mr Wright Year: 2017 - 2018

All of the children in Year 1 and Year 2 absolutely loved our school trip to Martin Mere this week where we enjoyed an action-packed day in the glorious sunshine. After being introduced to our guides, we explored Plum Wood and the different habitats that live there. We then moved on to Wild Wood where we investigated how many different plants we could find and played a brilliant game all about seeds. After a quick break for lunch to recharge our batteries, we headed to the den-making area and, working together in groups, we had a competition to try and make the best den. Later on, we enjoyed some time in the play area where we played lots of different games. Next, we went to see the otters who loved performing for their audience of Northway children! Finally, it was time to go home and, after a very busy day, we headed back to school on our coaches. The members of staff at Martin Mere commented on how well behaved all of the Northway pupils were and said that they were amazed by our knowledge of different habitats and living things. The children were all fantastic representatives of our school. Check out our photos to see all of the fun we had!
