Shakespeare in Y3 & Y4
In Year 3/4 we have used our knowledge of the character of Puck to create a kenning poem. Take a look at our finished poems. We used some interesting vocabulary to describe Puck and his mischieveous behaviour.
In English today, in Year 3/4, we have been looking at the character of Puck the mischievous fairy. We worked in groups to act out what his character gets up to throughout the play!
In Y4 we have been painting flowers to add to our Shakespeare display. The characters in the story wandered through the woods in between the flowers. They also used water from the flowers in their magic love potion!
Y4 have also enjoyed our dance. Today we practised it without the lovely accompanying music. We remembered all the steps! We are looking forward to sharing it with everyone later in the week.
Y3/4 have been looking at flowers and sketching and painting their finished art work. We are trying to create the forest scene from the play.
Year 3 have now completed their storybook pages that include levers to make the story more engaging for the reader. We have also finalised our dance that will take you on a journey through the magical woodland where Puck causes chaos for the characters!
The Juniors had a very exciting start to the morning with a performance of A Midsummer Night's dream from The Rubbish Shakespeare Company. We were thoroughly entertained and laughed continuously throughout. It was so enjoyable to watch a play which used the language of Shakespeare but also used some modern day humour.
On Thursday afternoon, we showcased our work in the hall for the other children to see, and we then welcomed friends and family to share our fantastic work!
In Year 3/4 we have loved practising our dance for A Midsumer Night's Dream and today we got to showcase it to some of the infants and juniors. We particularly enjoyed creating our costumes so that we looked the part.
Please see the individual class pages for videos and/or photos of our performances!
