GB Paralympic Footballer Roy Turnham To Visit Northway

We’re very excited to be welcoming GB Paralympic Footballer Roy Turnham to the school on Friday 6th October 2017. One of the newer members of the football 5-a-side team, Roy made his Paralympic debut in London 2012 and was part of the team that finished in 7th place.

Roy will be leading a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils and will follow-up with a talk and question and answer session. The aim of the event is to inspire the pupils to take up sport generally but, just as importantly, to encourage them to discover and then pursue their passion in life.

All children have been given a sponsorship form to use in order to help raise money for the event. You can also sponsor your child by following the below link:

As the sponsorship form and online sponsorship page explain, much of the money that is raised will be used to buy sports equipment for our school while also supporting GB athletes (including Paralympic athletes).

Please return sponsorship forms and sponsor money to the school by Friday 13th October at the very latest. These should be handed in to the class teacher and not the school office. Please also make sure that your child/ children have their PE kits in school on the day of the event and are not wearing any earrings.

Thank you in anticipation of creating a terrific and memorable event.
