Northway Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.

All school staff are trained in Child Protection, and children are made aware that they can talk to any adult in school if they have any worries. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Leads.

We want to work in partnership with parents and carers to help children to achieve their full potential and make a positive contribution. On rare occasions however, our concern about a child may mean that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact parents or carers.

We adopt the procedures laid down by the Sefton's Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) and the school has adopted a Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy in line with this for the safety of all.

At Northway, the Designated Leads for Safeguarding are:

Mrs McKenzie                                Mrs McGhee                                Mrs Harrison

If you require any further information please contact Mrs McKenzie,  Mrs McGhee or Mrs Harrison
