Friday 18th June

Here are some activities to complete with your child whilst they are at home. Have a go at each one but please do not worry if your child finds any of the activities challenging, please just do what you can.

Can you please email in a piece of maths work and a piece of English work for me to look at. You can take a photo or scan it and then email it to me at:

Year One Class Email: Year1@northwayprimary.co.uk

All the documents you need to complete the lesson are at the very bottom of the class page under ‘Files to Download’. You will need to scroll right down to the bottom!

Please remember to keep any work that you complete at home and bring it back to school when you return.

English

Our English tasks for today is going to be based on the story “Doris the Loris’. The story is on a PowerPoint for you to read at your own pace and remember that you can keep referring back to it as many times as you like.

In the lesson you are going to answer questions about ‘Doris the Loris’. Remember to read the questions carefully so that you understand what you are being asked to do.

Remember that you can read the story as many times as you like if you are ever stuck with any of the questions.

Phonics

How many cards can you read? Work through the PowerPoint and read each card carefully, there will be some real and nonsense words. Remember you can use your sounds chart to help you.

Could you read each card? Why not go back and have a go at the ones you found tricky.

Challenge: Speedy reading - Why not time yourself reading all the cards, how fast can you be? Can you beat your time?
