In June 2018, our school was awarded the Online Safety Mark qualification which recognises the work we have done as a school to improve online safety education for children, parents and the local community.

Following an application for the award, an assessor visited our school for half a day and met with a range of staff, pupils, parents/carers and governors and carried out a brief review of some of the evidence towards the award.

The areas of strength and good practice found by the assessor were:

• The enthusiasm, knowledge and work of the Digital Leaders.

• The proactive work of the Computing Lead and Online Safety Officer, with the full support of the Headteacher and Governing Body, ensuring that online safety is high on the school’s agenda and that robust policies and procedures are in place.

• The interaction with parents/carers to raise awareness of online safety issues. • Starting to work in the local community to inform them of online safety.
