Y5 - Mrs Farrington 2019 - 2020

Mrs Farrington

Welcome

My name is Mrs. Farrington and I teach Y5. I have been teaching at Northway since 1991.  It is such a happy, family atmosphere here that once people come they usually stay! Previously I taught in Dudley in the West Midlands. I am originally from Redcar in North Yorkshire and I have always wanted to teach.

Daily Home Learning Plan

So, it looks like school might be closed for a little while but we don’t want you to stop learning! It is really important that you carry on practising your basic skills and keep your creative juices flowing!

Below is a list of ideas for things you can do when you should be in school. We will update our class page by 9:30am every Monday with some new ideas to keep you ticking over.

Don’t forget to use your online learning log ins to keep your skills going. The links for some websites are below:

Times Tables Rockstars https://play.ttrockstars.com/

Top Marks Maths Games https://www.topmarks.co.uk/

Bug Club (school code kqax)  https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/

Numberbots

Try logging into https://play.numbots.com/#/intro using your TTRockstars username and password. It is a new game to help you practise number bonds and improve your understanding of place value. It starts off very easy but it is important you work through each question so you can move onto challenges. You can earn rewards in a similar way to TTRockstars.

Some children may have log ins for these accounts:

Mindfulness challenge:

As we continue to spend a lot of time at home, it is important to find ways to be calm and relaxed; we call this mindfulness. Follow the link below to listen to a 'Walking Meditation exercise'.
